COMEDK 2020 – The Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka is conducting COMEDK UGET 2020 on May 10. Candidates will be able to apply for the COMEDK in January 2020. COMEDK 2020 will be administered online where candidates will need to answer questions with multiple-choice answer options. The state level engineering examination will be held for three hours. Admissions to undergraduate engineering programmes in over 100 colleges associated with the consortium will be offered on the basis of COMEDK 2020. Candidates from all over the country can appear for the UGET 2020 entrance examination.

1.1- For UG Engineering Courses

• The qualifying examinations prescribed for admission for B.E. is second PUC or 10+2 Higher Secondary or equivalent examination recognized by State / Central Government; the last two years of study shall comprise of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with English as a compulsory subject.
• The General Merit candidates should have passed with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks (40% in respect of SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka State) in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and should have passed these subjects individually. Physics and Mathematics are compulsory subjects along with Chemistry or Bio Technology or Biology or Computer Science or Electronics as one of the optional subjects. However, changes, if any, in the eligibility criteria by the AICTE will be adopted.
• An attempt in the COMEDK Entrance Test seeking admission to Engineering courses is considered adequate for figuring in the rank list.
• Diploma candidates are not eligible to take the Entrance Test as there are no lateral entry admissions.

Note: The candidates shall submit the original marks card of the examination during counseling for proving their eligibility vis-a-vis marks scored as evidenced by the original marks card

1.2- For UG Architecture Courses

• The prescribed qualifying examination for admission to B. Arch course is second PUC or 10+2
• No candidate shall be admitted to architecture program unless she/he has passed an examination at the end of the 10+2 scheme of examination with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and also 50% marks in aggregate of the 10+2 level examination.
• The candidates should have qualified a recognized aptitude test in Architecture (NATA or equivalent) in 2020.
• There shall be no Entrance Test for candidates seeking admission to B. Arch Course.
• Candidates seeking admission to B. Arch course shall submit separate application form for counseling as per the notification on COMEDK website (which will be made available before counseling).Candidates interested only in Architecture course , need not fill the online application form for engineering entrance exam.

Note: Notwithstanding the eligibility criteria mentioned as above, the changes, if any, effected by AICTE, VTU, COA or any other competent Regulatory Authorities before the start of rank generation process of COMEDK shall be adopted mutatis mutandis. After generating the ranks, no changes will be made to the already prescribed eligibility criteria.Rank Card will be generated only for those candidates who become eligible for admission to under Graduate Courses as per the regulations of AICTE / VTU.

COMEDK UGET 2020 Aspirants must definitely have the pre-knowledge about the pattern of the exam. Physics Syllabus: The physics syllabus consist of Alternating Current, Oscillations, Heat & Thermodynamics, Current & Electricity, Units of Measurement, Electromagnetic Induction, Motion in one, two & three dimensions, Kinetic Energy, thermal and chemical effects of currents, Ray Optics, Capacitance, Heat, and Thermodynamic, X-Ray, Wave Optics, Radioactivity, Simple Harmonic Motion, Gravitation, Principals of Communication, EM Waves, Elastic Kinetic Theory of Gases and Vector Motions.

Chemistry Syllabus: The chemistry section comprise of the chapters that include Transition of Metals, Bio-Molecules, Nuclear Chemistry, Electrochemistry, Polymers, Chemistry of Carbon Compounds, Organic Chemistry, Chemical Kinetics and chemistry in action, P Block Elements, Solid State, Coordination Compounds, Redox Reaction, Chemical Bonding, Alkanes, Alkenes and Alkynes, Chemical Equilibrium, Chemistry Thermodynamics, Aldehyde Ketone, Gaseous State, S-Block Element, Surface Chemistry, Periodic Classification of Elements, Solutions, Atomic Structure, Mole Concept & Electrochemistry.

Mathematics Syllabus: The mathematics section can be asked from Probability, Matrices & Determinants, Logarithmic Series, Differential Equation, Three Dimensional Geometry, Co-relation & Regression, Circles, Trigonometry, Co-ordinate Geometry,Vectors, and Calculus.

English Syllabus: In the section of English subject, the question can be asked from Comprehension passage, Structure of words, Phrases, Clauses and Sentences, Synonyms, Modals, Prepositions, Voice, Sequence of words, Rearrangement of Jumbled words, Determiners, Rule of Conjunctions, Sentence Completion, One-word Substitution & Tenses etc.

The Chemistry section is usually easy. It focuses on basic theoretical concepts, so most of the students can glide through it with ease.

The Physics section was slightly tricky but if you practice enough sample papers, it won’t be too difficult to score well.

Mathematics was the toughest section of the paper. It is lengthy with time-consuming calculations and thus the most challenging subject in the exam.

Questions from English are generally easy and quick to solve.

The exam conducting authority will release COMEDK UGET result in the third week of May 2020. Candidates can check their result in online mode. After the result declaration, the merit list will be prepared. Candidates will be called for the counselling on the basis of the merit list. The conducting authority will also release COMEDK UGET Cut off for engineering & architecture courses after the result declaration.

Note: Candidates who applied for both, COMEDK and UniGAUGE, will receive 2 separate scorecards since the admission process for both is different.

After the conclusion of the exam, the COMEDK UGET 2020 Answer Key is released. This will be a provisional answer key. The students can check the answer keys from the official website to calculate the expected total marks. In case the student is not satisfied with the answer key, they shall be able to raise objections with the conducting body. The challenge has to be filled online only and it would not be accepted by any other means. Candidates should ensure that they submit the challenges well before the last date. After the final answer key has been published, the student will not be able to submit any challenges. Hence the students should take care of the deadlines.

• It might be possible that when the results are declared, two students might be having the same score in the exam. In this case, the merit shall be determined as per the inter-se-merit criteria. The students who shall appear for this exam must know about it. It is an important thing to know. Check it below:
• The principle of least negative responses (number of wrong answers) in 1) Physics, 2) Mathematics and 3) Chemistry
• Aggregate marks in Physics and Mathematics in the Entrance Test shall be taken in account.
• Marks in Mathematics in the Entrance Test will be counted
• If any of the above is not satisfying, the Age of the Candidate will be the factor for calculating the merit.

COMEDK UGET Cut off will be different for various colleges, branch and categories. The cut-off list will contain opening rank and closing rank category-wise and branch-wise. Closing rank is the last rank after which admission is closed to the member institutions of COMEDK. The tentative qualifying marks for COMEDK UGET 2020 are as follows:

COMEDK will organize a centralized single window counselling or seat selection process of COMEDK for admission into engineering & architecture courses offered by the affiliated colleges of COMEDK.The counselling related information such as counselling schedule or procedure will be published on this page within the prescribed time.

COMEDK UGET counselling will be started from July 1 to 13, 2020 through offline mode.

The counselling will be held in two rounds.
The admission will be done on the basis of a marks score in the examination.

Merit List & Counselling
A merit list shall be prepared on the basis of COMEDK UGET 2020 Result. The merit list is important for the students. On the basis of the COMEDK UGET 2020 Merit list, the students shall be called for the counselling process.
